Maximizing usable space while fixing drainage issues in a poorly designed backyard
This homeowner had limited backyard space due to a steep hillside and persistent drainage issues caused by a previous contractor's poor installation. Razor Sharp Lawn & Landscape excavated the hill to extend the yard, then installed a beautiful new retaining wall with stone stairs for easy access between levels.
To address the drainage problem, we removed the failing system and installed a proper French drain to prevent water pooling in the lower yard.
Despite heavy rain during construction, we protected the existing lawn with plywood sheets to prevent damage while moving equipment. The project was completed with fresh fescue sod, creating a larger, more functional backyard with proper drainage.
